The 2017 SEMA Show is giving us a glimpse at what’s new in the truck market. Today, we’re looking at B&W Trailer Hitches and its OEM ball and safety chain kit.
These days, OEMs are well aware that their truck-buying customers are keen to do some towing, especially where it concerns three-quarter-ton pickups. These trucks have what are called “prep packages,” where a gooseneck or fifth-wheel hitch is already installed.
Many of B&W’s products are overshadowed by this factory offering, but the company has still found ways to make these prep packages better. Case in point — the ball and safety chain kit.
Made in the USA, B&W Trailer Hitches’ products are geared toward truck owners. In particular, truck owners that aren’t afraid of towing heavy loads.
“This kit is supposed to complement the OEM prep package,” explained B&W’s Beth Barlow. “These packages are offered by all of the Big Three. Our kit comes with a tow ball, safety chains, and a plastic plug, all packed into a compact traveling case.”
Part of what makes the B&W kit remarkable is the tow ball. With its built-in latching handle, it makes removal and installation a breeze versus the OEM ball, where one would have to touch grease every time they wanted it in our out. “We made it convenient and strong,” commented Barlow. “Our tow ball is rated at up to 30,000 pounds.”
We could really see the diesel and medium-duty truck fans getting some good use out of this kit. For more information, we recommend you check out B&W Trailer Hitches’ website.
