Truck Feature: Paying Tribute To SEAL Team Six - Diesel Army Style!

Truck Feature: Paying Tribute To SEAL Team Six – Diesel Army Style!

You never really forget the day that one of the largest acts of terrorism was carried out against the United States. In 2001, an unforgettable day in U.S. history occurred, and from that day forward started a 10-year manhunt for the person(s) responsible. A group of a dozen men known as “SEAL Team Six,” infiltrated the compound of Osama Bin Laden and put him to rest, bringing closure to the United States for all the lives lost on 9/11/01. Armen Adjarian, owner of True Bliss Customs in Canoga Park, California wanted to build a truck dedicated to these men. He knew he had to pick a truck that would be suitable for the men of Seal Team Six and he decided a 2009 Ford F-450 Super Duty was the perfect choice.

A Down To Business F-450

The SEALs are trained to fight on all terrain. That means everything from land to air to sea. So, Armen knew he had to build a truck that could go anywhere. For any rugged terrain he might come across, so, after painting the frame flat black, Armen installed a Rize Industries 8-inch lift, a set of 22-inch American Force wheels wrapped in 37-inch Interco tires, and a set of Icon coilovers. A pair of piggyback shocks from Icon were also installed in the rear along with some leaf springs from Atlas to round out the suspension modifications.

As with all SEAL missions, being able to get in and out of any situation — quickly — is a must. That is why Armen decided adding a Snow Performance water-methanol injection system to the 6.4-liter turbo-diesel engine would give him the edge he needed. To maximize air flow, an S&B intake and a 5-inch straight-pipe exhaust along with a MagnaFlow muffler were added. High temperatures can be an issue while in battle, but by adding the Spearco intercooler, the problem is solved.

Now that the truck had the speed and height, it was time to add some extra armor. A set of front and rear bumpers from Ranch Hand were installed and that means driving through almost anything is not a problem. Mounted up front, a Mile Marker winch is capable of pulling a fellow soldier out of a sticky situation. Armen knew he had to camouflage the truck somehow, so he decided a flat gray would be perfect, just like a NAVY ship.

An extra spare is a must, so on top of the crew cab, a SMP Fabrication rack was installed which is also home to three Bulldog LED bars along with four Baja Designs round lights. Needless to say, seeing in the dark is no longer an issue.

To protect its cargo, a Retrax tonneau cover was installed over the bed. One of the finishing touches added to the exterior is the custom aluminum badges from Billet Badges. Featured prominently on the rear is the SEALs logo and up front on the fenders shows the “Ford F-450 SEAL Team Six” along with 22 5.56mm rounds.

The interior was not left untouched, and it has everything a SEAL would need — a Cobra CB radio to communicate when out of range, factory navigation to help guide the way, and heated and cooled seats wrapped in Katzkin leather for added durability and comfort.

F-450

Armen’s SEAL Team Six build is definitely one to remember. It’s ready for battle 24/7 and it stands as more than just a regular shop build, but a day that we will never forget — patriotism, freedom, and a reminder that you never mess with the USA.

Armen wanted to send out a special thanks to all of his crew at True Bliss Customs, his wife Nelly for all of her support throughout the build, and all of his sponsors who supported the project along the way.

We were so impressed with the attention to detail on this F-450, that we asked Adjarian if he could walk us through how to color match factory headlights. Click here to see how.
