Ok, so not your typical eBay find. We came across this 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty and had to share. How often do you see a fully armored civilian vehicle. On top of that, one that is for sale and not some crazy one off vehicle or a civilian version of a military vehicle?
It appears this Super Duty was bought brand new to be a demo unit for an armor manufacturer. They took delivery of the vehicle ten years ago, stripped it down and performed their magic. According to the ebay listing (found here) “The entire cab has been armored. The doors, firewall, rear wall, pillars and roof and all designed to stop a 7.62x39mm API BZ.
This is the hardened steel core, armor piercing, incendiary round fired from an AK-47. All of the glass has been swapped for transparent armor designed to protect against NIJ 0108.01 level III 7.62x51mm M80 ball projectiles. This includes the windshield, rear window, and all four door windows. Due to the added armor in the doors, only the driver’s window moves. It can be lowered a couple of inches to allow you to pass documents back and forth. The floor of the truck has been armored to protect against grenades exploding under the truck.”
That is some pretty serious armor that has been added to this truck. Now because it was a demo unit, there are like no miles on this truck. The odometer in the photos shows 202 but it is listed with 350 miles. It is basically a brand new truck, that is out of warranty, but spotless.
Check it out, there are a bunch more photos in the listing here.
