Anticipation for the next Ford Super Duty is reaching greater heights every day. Ever since Ford pulled back the veil in October, people have been wondering what it would be like to drive the next generation of Power Stroke-powered pickups, especially now that the F-150’s aluminum body would be translated to its three-quarter-ton brother.
Now, almost a year later, Ford is not only letting the truck spin upon a dais, but it’s letting people take the pickup for a spin as well. As part of the “Drive The Future Of Tough” tour, the campaign is making its way around the nation for the next several weeks, stopping at various cities.
We spoke with Mike Levine, Product Communications North America Manager, to get a better understanding of how this tour has been going and what people can expect. Suffice it to say, it’s an exciting opportunity for both Ford and the American public.
Levine was able to comment on Ford’s thought process when selecting stops for the tour: “The locations are across the US in major metro areas. For this experience, users will get to do more than just a drive around the block. They’ll also get to do some towing and have a subject matter expert on hand to walk them through the truck and its features.”
So far, the tour has been a great success, and the recent press release has served to spread the word on the event. “We’ve been having great turnout at each of the areas,” said Levine. “Our press release will help us promote the rest of the stops on the tour.”
Currently, Ford has arrived in Billings, Montana to show Big Sky Country folks what puts the next-gen Super Duty at the forefront of diesels. The next stop will be in San Antonio, Texas, on August 19-21. There are still more than a dozen cities left to cover, so check out the schedule below and sign up to get a chance behind the wheel.
