BD Diesel Performance is one of the top names for diesel performance in the aftermarket. This year they decided to throw a dyno day and while they were expecting it to be a small event, it ended up having a huge turn out thanks to the BC Coal Rollers and other friends and customers in Western Canada. They are estimating they had well over 200 total attendees.

BD_thumbThe dyno action rolled on all day long and at the end of the day there were clear winners for the Ford, Dodge and Chevy classes. Brady Hoolsema came out on top in the Ford class with his 08′ Super Duty with a DPF Delete. He rolled 559 hp with 1305 ft lbs of torque.

Representing the Dodge rollers was Diesel Jay Performance with their 2008 Dodge rocking a set of BD twin turbos, ss manifold and other goodies. He rolled 755.7hp and 1764 ft lbs of torque.  Now these may be some impressive numbers, but it was the Chevy winner that really hit the rollers hard. Dustin VW , showed up with his 2007 Chevy that has been modified with a SoCal Diesel motor, dual fuel and big twin turbos and took to the rollers. He hit a max horsepower of 945 and 2,208 ft lbs of torque. Each of the winners received $300 and all dyno runners where given a $20.00 credit to BD Diesel Performance just for coming out and hitting the rollers.

While all of the excitement was going on at the dyno, there was also a Show and Shine contest. After much deliberation and discussion, it was Devon White and his 6L Ford that took home the win. The judges were impressed with the “spotlessness” of the vehicle and the fact that many of the details in the engine compartment were custom painted and specifically detailed. So, he took home a shiny Benjamin ($100).

When talking to the folks at BD, they were quick to mention another vehicle worth chatting about.  They quickly brought up the impressive mechanical accomplishment of Drew Leger from Lumby, BC with47 Mercury body installed on a 1992 Dodge chassis with a 5.9. Though he claims only a 6,000.00$ budget so far for his Rat Rod the amount of hours would be in the thousands as well. Hats off to this young man for his creative detailed mechanical work., Tomato paste cans for gauge holders, Roads signs for Floor boards, closed end box wrenches for tailgate latches.

Throughout the day, BD also managed to raise more than $700 for the BC Children’s Hospital and the company generously decided to match it and donated a total of $1426.
