Ram’s claim that they are the off-road truck leaders has certainly been reinforced with the release of the Ram 2500 Heavy-Duty, 4×4 Off-road Package that is a value-priced option with a long list of content that customers have requested.
Ram truck enthusiasts can look forward to the third quarter of 2016 when Ram releases its exciting new package that will please occasional and regular off-roaders alike. Up to 35 percent of pickup owners indulge in off-road environments for play and many are in an off-road environment for work as well making this package a welcome addition.
The exciting list of upgrades in this package include large front tow hooks that will provide a large amount of versatility, allowing the Ram 2500 to be a great rescue rig or anchor point. The larger fender flares keep the debris from the tires from marring the sides of the truck.
Rough roads will be effortless thanks to the Bilstein monotube shock absorbers that take the impact of the bumps on all for corners and takes care of any excessive heat that truck owners may notice when driving over rough terrain for extended periods of time. Part of what makes these performance shocks so effective is that they are designed specifically for the 2500’s weight. They also take advantage of the five-link coil rear suspension which provides, even more, control to the axle.
A great off-road package wouldn’t be complete without excellent tires and this 4×4 off-road package has them. Some models will have Firestone LT 275/70R 18E OWL on and off-road tires and some models will have the Firestone LT 285/60R20.
Add these impressive all-terrain Firestone tires to the improved suspension and you can look forward to putting your Ram truck through its paces. Off-roaders will be able to worry less about underbody strike damage thanks to the transfer case skid plate that addresses the lowest mid-point of the truck. Another traction-adding upgrade is the standard rear anti-spin differential with a design that automatically unlocks for normal on-road driving.
This package also includes, as standard, the Hill-descent Control. Ram Truck enthusiasts will be able to control their speed down the steep rugged grades without needing the throttle or the brake pedals due to the standard Hill-descent Control that has the buttons on the column shifter.
Top off all of these great upgrades with the large 4×4 off-road decal that is on the rear corner of the bed on both sides and Ram truck off-roaders are all set for some heavy-duty off-road work and play.
This terrific package is available in Crew and Mega Cab, gas or diesel powertrains, and short and long wheelbase models. It is also being offered on all Ram trim levels including buyer favorites such as the Tradesman, SLT, Big Horn, Lone Star, Outdoorsman, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited.
