New from DEI – the Titanium Turbo Shield is now available for the Garrett GTP38R turbocharger. This shield will help your F-Series Power Stroke see cooler air intake temperatures and a boost in horsepower. See more details below.

Official Release:

DEI’s popular Titanium Turbo Shield is now available for the Garrett GTP38R turbocharger. The GTP38R turbo, developed for the F-Series Power Stroke diesel equipped engine, greatly improves HP but can generate excessive radiant heat under the hood. DEI’s Titanium Turbo Shield, part # 010176, was custom designed to fit the GTP38R to reduce turbo lag, improve HP and add thermal protection for long-lasting performance.

Turbos are known to generate excessive heat under the hood that can put electrical wiring, hoses and components at risk. The DEI Titanium Turbo Shield serves as a high quality insulator that keeps the heat in the exhaust path. The exterior is made of a pulverized lava rock material manufactured into tightly woven fibers for titanium-like strength. The interior is made of high temp rated, silica fireproof insulation with a fireproof core all held together with double reinforced seams. Rated to handle direct heat up to 1800° F / 2500° F radiant, the result is more heat is kept in the exhaust path for a cooler air intake temperature and a boost in HP. Anchoring hooks are used to secure the shield to the turbine housing.

Additionally, DEI also manufactures shields and kits for many other turbochargers. While the GTP38R is not available at this time as a kit, all other Garrett turbocharger shields are available as kits which includes a 2”x15’ roll of Titanium wrap, two 20” stainless steel zip ties, and 5’ of fastening wire.

Features:

  • Increases Horsepower, Reduces Heat Transfer
