If you are pushing the limits, then you are bound to break things. Dmitri Millard knows this better than most. If you do a quick search on YouTube you will see that he regularly pushes the boundaries and blows a lot of stuff up.
If you don’t know Millard, then you might be thinking that he uses a lot of low quality parts or doesn’t know what he is doing. The truth is the exact opposite. Millard uses some of the best parts in the industry and the latest technology around. Millard himself has been a leader when it comes to building Duramax power for many years.
The limit that Millard was trying to push this time around was; how much horsepower could a single turbo (88mm inducer) D-max make?
According to BustedKnuckleVideo’s, Millard’s engine is a concrete filled block, Carrillo Rods, forged pistons, Wagler Performance heads, Industrial Injection injectors and CP3 pumps. The charger itself is a Garrett GT4718 with an HSP mount kit.
“We hold multiple records including setting the new single turbo record with that dyno pull at 1614. We were at Northern Utah Diesel Experts event in Richmond, Utah. I just made the event as they were getting ready to pack it up, we got the NOS wired at the last second on the dyno as they were strapping (it). Told everyone to stand back cause I was about to let it all hang out to beat the previous record that was 1451 and that’s exactly what happened. [It] came up on boost, was making about 1300hp before we ever hit the big stage of NOS with 2, 80 pills split. She came up hard and fast until World War 3 happened under the hood. Shrapnel was flying all over,” wrote BustedKnuckleVideo.
If you are ever at an event and Dmitri Millard is around, it is worth hanging out just to watch him. His rigs are able to put down some mind blowing power!
