When it comes to a ‘60s Impala, most people imagine them done up with custom paint, ridding on hydraulics, and sporting some sort of crazy 100 spoke wheel. Not too many people see a ’66 Impala and think, “Hey look at the size of that engine compartment. I bet that would fit a 12 valve!”
But that is just what the guys at CS Auto Repair out of Mulvane, Kansas thought. They removed the stocker gasser and set the Impala up with a 12 valve.
The video shows them backing the car out onto the street, giving her a little bit of gas and letting her go. If you listen, the car only moves about one car length before the turbo starts to kick in and the Goodyear Eagle GT II tires start to squeal.
As the Impala backed out of the garage, it can be seen that there are no inner fender wells, and it appears that there is no A/C. It is hard to tell if they are done with this awesome project or if they plan on doing more to the vehicle. Certainly, a hood scoop will more than likely adorn the front probably in the same black paint.
The rest of the car appears to be in pretty good shape. We visited CS Auto Repair’s Facebook page and they show a few photos of the car, but never really talked about it. If you want to know more about it, be sure to hit the guys up and get the skinny.
