WTF: An Instant Slant Roof Conversion On This Duramax

[1]

Welcome back to Wrecked Truck Friday – WTF – as we continue to check out the recently deceased rigs out there in need of a rescue. This week, we’re checking out a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 out of Louisville, Kentucky [2].

We’re all fans of body damage, and this Duramax shows no shortage of it. However, based on the relative straightness of the hood and fenders, we’re betting the truck wasn’t driven into something; rather, something dropped onto it.

Would you save this single-cab Duramax or let it rot?

Tree, power line, or grand piano, we can’t tell. But it hit on such a spot, and with enough force, that it slanted the roof down. It’s like a free hot rod modification… minus the cost and owner’s permission.

The Silverado can’t start (the keys are missing, anyway) and its dashboard is in shambles, but we can assume the mileage is in the neighborhood of 130-150,000 miles. The pictures don’t show an airbag deployment in the cabin.

Could you imagine being inside the cab when the roof crumpled? Thankfully, the airbags didn't deploy, so it's unlikely there was anyone inside when the truck was wrecked.

Out back, the tailgate and taillights are gone (probably sold off). A big exhaust tip, some aftermarket wheels, and BFG All-Terrains are sellable, and that’s about it. Making a quick profit off of this truck is nigh impossible.

But with the right know-how and lots of time, maybe this single cab can sing again. Would you take a chance on this Duramax? Let us know in the comments below.
