Fastest 50: Cody Heath Fastest Diesel-Powered Machine Oregon

Our last Fastest 50 submission was nearly as far east as you could get. This go around, the polar opposite. We’re heading out west to Oregon. After filing through the submissions, it was Cody Heath who actually pilots the fastest diesel-powered machine in the beaver state. Heath was excited to know he had a fast truck and even more excited to know he was the fastest.

Every truck has a story and Heath’s build is no different. “The truck is a 2011 Crew Cab Four Door RAM. This 6.7-Liter Cummins-equipped pickup has been gone through to handle the additional power Heath and his friends plan on putting it through. In fact, Heath tells us that it was just him and a good friend who put it all together.

Heath tells us that he credits his friend and co-wrencher Miles Gatliff for helping get this truck together and Siskiyou Diesel for always getting his parts out to him.

“This truck is something that a good friend and I put together in the garage. It’s a 6.7-Liter Cummins engine with CP Carrillo connecting rods, aftermarket pistons, and main studs,” said Heath. “The cylinder head is a race unit from Industrial Injection, it was converted over to a 2006 ECM, and featured an in-house built standalone harness.”

For a fuel system, Heath trusts a pair of 10-MM CP3 high-pressure pumps and a set of Dynomite Diesel Products 300-percent super mental injectors. In addition to the big fuel system, Heath also uses a progressive nitrous system to help light and help keep the turbocharger lit throughout the pass. Also, just for the additional horsepower and torque. This 6.7 get a boost knuckle sandwich from an 80-MM Forced Inductions turbocharger.

Heath is also a part of the BD Diesel Performance Race Team.

With an Ultimate Transmission-built transmission and custom tuning from Robert Ivey at CTT, this truck is pretty nasty. Just last month, Heath piloted his truck to a 10.12-second pass at the Siskiyou Diesel fest with a truck weight of 6,140-pounds. “I would like to cut more weight out of this truck and bury this thing into the 9-second range.” Heath’s best eighth-mile pass to date is a 6.463 at 109.38-MPH.

This search for the fastest 50 has really shed light onto some names I specifically haven’t heard of and really look forward to following these builds and see where they end up. Do you think you have what it takes to top your state? Send us a submission and we’ll see where you stand. Stay tuned to Diesel Army for more on the Fastest 50 series.
