If there is one thing for sure, we love the sound of a diesel engine. It doesn’t matter what it is in or what kind of engine it is, we just enjoy it. Unfortunately, manufacturers didn’t equip some of the vehicles with the diesel engine we wish they would’ve or the diesel doesn’t come in the configuration we wish. But, thanks to guys like Ryan Scott, he’s created his own and it is a head-turner.
A single cab short box pickup truck passing you on the road seems like your normal half-ton Ram. Nothing too special but this Ram is quite different. When this little shorty goes by, you’re hearing the rumble of a 6.7-Liter Cummins engine, a rattly triple-disc clutch for Valair Clutch, and a glossy finish from the PXR Black paint. Scott’s creation is beautiful but it’s a runner, too.
Scott took Lucipher to the Rudy's Fall Truck Jam event in Julian, North Carolina where the engine was put to the test on the chassis dyno and it was showcased in the Vision Wheels booth for all to see.
Under the hood of this Ram is a few goodies that put plenty of power to the ground. Between the stock over S475 compound kit and the custom tuning via CTT, the truck coined “Lucipher” is making 618-horsepower and 1,132-ft/lbs of torque according to the latest dyno session. As if 618-horsepower wasn’t enough, Scott tried his luck with a healthy dose of N20 and pushed his numbers to 773-horsepower and 1,464-ft/lbs.
Lucipher is riding on a set of 24-inch by 12-inch Vision wheels wrapped in Atturo 305/35R24 tires. Other mods include EGR Cab Spoiler, Ram Air Hood, tinted taillights, custom dual exhaust, 2018 sport grille, and 5-percent tint all the way around.
Scott’s purpose for this build wasn’t just to make good power but it was also to look unique. Well, after some serious fab work, this truck was converted into the short bed version you see here and it really makes me wish they would offer a single cab short box diesel pickup truck in every brand. On the interior and exterior, Lucipher showcases many extra add-ons.
