2020 Ultimate Callout Challenge Cancelled, Pushed To May 2021

I regret to inform you that there is going to be another postponement in our industry, the 2020 edition of the Ultimate Callout Challenge. This huge event we’ve all been looking forward to is going to be postponed, again, unfortunately. In a recent email that just dropped moments ago, the Ultimate Callout Challenge team expressed their feelings on the matter.

“Over the last couple of months, our country has been thrown into a state of limbo due to COVID-19. A couple of months ago we announced that we were moving the dates of the 2020 UCC back to July, hoping by then that things would smooth out. As we have continued to work for this date for the event we have become increasingly aware of how state shutdowns, travel restrictions, and layoffs have affected everyone.

As our country opens up and each state has its own plans of this happening the effects of the previous months and the month to come are too great to ignore. We have talked with many competitors/business owners who have been drastically slowed down or had their shops shut down during the last couple of months. Resulting in loss of income and some having to lay people off. We have talked with some competitors that due to COVID-19 it has been a struggle to get certain parts in for their truck to make them competition ready.

Also, as we look forward there is no clear date of when the Candian and US border will be opened, and if there will be a mandatory self-quarantine period for crossing the border. This makes it complicated for companies, competitors, and fans to travel to the event. Many sponsors not only are affected by the slow down in revenue over the last couple of months, but they have also had to cancel or change many of the events/shows they are attending for 2020.  Some companies have suspended all corporate travel through the summer. In addition, flights have become even harder to book and are constantly changing week to week.

Because of these obstacles that we now all face and out of respect for all the UCC Competitors, all our UCC sponsors, and all the UCC fans we have had to move the UCC from July back to May 21-23, 2021. We feel by making this move it will help the UCC competitors be more prepared and be less of a financial strain on their shops and families. It will allow our fans, sponsors, and competitors from Canada to be a part of the UCC. This will also allow us to ensure that we are able to put on the level of event that the UCC/DPI Expo has become.

It’s unfortunate that these things keep getting canceled or postponed but it is what it is and we need to just push through. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us here at Diesel Army or the crew at the Ultimate Callout Challenge. Stay tuned for more updates.
