AMSOIL’s Engine And Transmission Flush In Diesel Engines

Regardless of what you may think, all engines and transmissions take on abuse over time. With that being said, the performance of each deteriorates over time. AMSOIL‘s Engine and Transmission Flush that we’ve discovered is actually diesel engine safe too. If you’ve got a high-mileage engine or transmission that you feel like could use some pep in its step, this may be an option for you.

Typically when an engine or transmission begins to weaken, per AMSOIL, its operating efficiency goes down, the fuel economy is sacrificed, and usually emits more emissions. With this flush and its potent, detergent-based formula, it will dissolve and disperse sludge build-up, varnish and deposits, and lower operating temperatures, resulting in gains across the board.

Restores Vehicles to Like-New

Out of the box engines and transmissions obviously perform efficiently but inevitably they will gather harmful deposits that result in performance losses. In transmissions, deposits can form on clutches which causes hesitation and erratic shifting. What this will cause is glazing which reduces the lifespan of the transmission.
As for the engine, the stop-and-go driving, prolonged idling, short trips that don’t allow the engine to warm up, towing, and breathing airborne debris are all causes of sludge build-up in your engine oil. As it settles, sludge clogs the narrow oil passages restricting oil flow to vital engine components. Protect your investment over the long haul.
  • Prepares engines and transmissions for new oil
  • Removes deposits and sludge for improved efficiency, fuel economy, and lower emissions
  • Prolongs equipment life
  • Detergent-based formula is environmentally friendly
  • Compatible with seals and gaskets
  • One-treatment results
  • Easily disposed of with waste oil

Due to its detergent-based formula, it can be disposed of with waste oil easily which makes this more user-friendly. Its advanced formula of light base oil technology, powerful detergents, and dispersants provides safe cleaning action. AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush is compatible with both petroleum and synthetic oils, preparing poorly maintained equipment for installation of new oil. This is your first step towards restoring your engine and transmission’s life and resurrecting its like-new performance.

Gasoline and Diesel Engines

  • Helps loosen sticky valves and rings, minimizing blow-by and reducing emissions
  • Helps quiet lifter noise
  • Promotes lower operating temperatures through sludge removal
  • Easy disposal

Automatic Transmissions

  • Cleans deposits in oil cooler and ports
  • Helps unclog fluid passages
  • Cleans deposits and varnish from clutch plates, helping improve efficiency
  • Promotes smoother operation and transmission life through reduced shift delay

NOTE: It is not recommended to flush transmissions that do not have a removable pan or access to the transmission filter.

How To Use It

Though it works in one treatment, AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush is safe enough to be used at every oil change. If using a flushing machine, follow the manufacturer’s recommendation. Otherwise, use the following guidelines:

If you’re treating the engine, add an entire bottle of AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush to the engine oil fill port. Idle the engine for 10-15 minutes, then immediately drain the oil. Ensure enough time for the system to completely
drain. Remove and replace the engine oil filter. Refill engine with new engine oil in the viscosity grade recommended by the manufacturer.

If you’re treating the transmission, engage the emergency brake. Then, add an entire bottle of flush to the transmission oil fill port. Let the engine idle for 10-15 minutes; shift through drive and reverse. Do NOT place the vehicle under heavy load. Once completed, drain the entire transmission and torque converter of fluid. Remember, the filter must be changed prior to refilling with new transmission fluid.

On the left, you can see the automatic transmission clutch plates pre-cleanup. Varnish and glazing are heavy on some of the plates. Now, on the right, you have the automatic transmission clutch plates after cleanup with AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush reveal lighter glazing and varnish.

Below, you can see the difference before and after treatment on this cylinder head. Before treatment on the left, there are sludge deposits on and around the valve springs and push rod openings. Moving on to the right, you can tell the flush has cleaned the push rod openings as well as offered fewer sludge deposits. Not only did it clean these areas up, but the entire cylinder-head itself is also noticeably cleaner.

We’re going to have to find an old worn out engine and see how this stuff works first hand. How about a 200,000-mile engine? Should we find an even older one? Let us know in the comments below.
