Edge Products’ New A-Pillar Mount Offers Gauges With One Bolt

I don’t know if it is the same way now as it was eight or ten years ago, but the first thing you did when you got into a new truck was finding a set of gauges for it. You would have to buy the new pillar, new gauges, run all of the wires to them, and then you would lose your smooth factory plastic. As of today, Edge Products has come out with a very interesting piece that allows you to have gauges in literally seconds while still obtaining your factory pillar plastic.

If you have equipped your ride with a newer CTS3 device, this new cast aluminum display mount will change the way you see it. These mounts have been specifically engineered for an OEM look and fitment to put your new CTS3 monitor in the perfect viewing position without obstructing your view of the road. Molded and cast from aluminum, these mounts are a sturdy replacement for their standard suction cup mounts.

If you desire a clean, factory looking interior, this matte black finish will help. There is no drilling required, either. Simply remove one bolt from the factory a-pillar and bolt this mount back in. These mounts use a universal uni-ball style mount, allowing them to be used with the included dual T-slot mount or with various aftermarket cell phone and GPS mounts. All hardware and required pillar cover plates are included.

Features

  • Cast aluminum for rigidity and solid mounting
  • Custom molded for vehicle specific fitment
  • Paintable finish for complete end user customization
  • No drilling required, mounts using existing A-pillar grab handle location
  • Locates monitor in optimum viewing position
  • Hardware and dual t-slot mount included
  • Works with all CTS3 devices including Insight, Evolution, and Juice
  • Also works with older CTS2 and CS2 style monitors
  • May work with other aftermarket mounts that use similar uni-ball construction

We caught up with Jacob White, Edge Products’ Brand Manager, and he had quite a bit to say when we discussed this new piece.

“The basic suction cup mount is a sufficient option for most, but owners have been asking for something more permanent for a while now. We wanted to create something that installed easy, kept the monitor in a good position, and didn’t look out of place in the cab. Our engineering team spent a lot of time perfecting these to meet all that criteria. We designed these to position the monitor up on the dash, tucked back some so it’s in easy view and reach without obstructing the view of the road,” White said. “Some other mounts just position the monitor directly below the grab handle, and they made the cabin feel more confined and the monitor was too close to the driver in our opinion. We also weren’t fond of the 3D printed construction on most competitors’ mounts, as they can fade in the sun over time and just aren’t as rigid and sturdy as these cast aluminum mounts are. This mount is very stable, so your monitor isn’t shaking and moving around while driving.”

White continued, “By using the factory lower grab handle bolt location, there is no modification required and these can be installed in less than 10-minutes. The matte black powder coat reduces glare while offering a sleek look, but they can also be painted to match should the owner choose. We’re covering 5 applications on this release, but have many more models in development as well.”
