Diesel Drag Racing At The 2024 Unlimited Callout Challenge

If you are ready for the 2024 Ultimate Callout Challenge (UCC), you are not alone. Thousands will be in attendance and several hundred will be participating in the event. We recently talked about how to get your truck registered for this three-day barrage of all things diesel, but for many, diesel drag racing is the highlight of the event. So, let’s take a closer look at what makes the Outlaw Diesel Super Series (ODSS) at UCC so popular.

Since the sanctioning body’s inception in 2015, the goal of the ODSS has been to provide a professional environment for diesel drag racers to come together and compete. ODSS has developed a points series that covers the Midwest and East Coast regions supporting up to eight different tracks and locations per year. This eighth-mile racing series hosts several classes consisting of ET bracket, 7.70 index, 6.70 index, 5.90 index, Pro Street, Pro Mod, and Pro Dragster.

Last year, more than 300 tech cards were sold which means a lot racers had a great time. But what if you’re not a dedicated series participant but you want to drag race at UCC? Can you? Yes, that is where the ET class comes in.

Overall, ODSS offers seven classes of racing action to cater to all diesel enthusiasts. You can choose from ET, 7.70 Index, 6.70 Index, 5.90 Index, Pro Street, Pro Mod, and Pro Dragster.

Previously, I mentioned tech cards, well, your tech card is your ticket to compete in your chosen class at the ODSS event. It’s your chance to test your skills and your machine against the fiercest competition. Remember, to participate in the racing action, you must purchase a three-day spectator pass as well as a racing entry.

If you want to know about the basic rules of each class, we have some insight for you provided by ODSS:

  • ET and 7.70- Street Trucks no real need for anything special, no leaking oil/fluids, batteries must be secure, the driver must wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and helmet. (7.70 requires a safety jacket and helmet)
