I have a real affinity for work trucks. Those big beautiful brutes that can do it all. Whatever your flavor, new, old, year, make, model, dually, long bed, flatbed, crew cab, or single cab, there is no denying their place and purpose. At the 2023 SEMA Show, when I saw this all-black Ram 2500 work horse in the Lippert booth decked out with Ranch Hand truck accessories, I had to take a closer look.
The new truck featured a work-ready stance with the ReadyLIFT Suspension, 37×12.50R20LT Nitto Tire Ridge Grapplers, and some attractive-looking 20-inch wheels. Coordinated by Glover Customs out of Owasso, Oklahoma, the SEMA Show truck build got the full Lippert treatment to transform the heavy-duty truck into an even more capable Ram 2500 work horse. Lippert automotive accessories include well-known brands like Curt Manufacturing, Ranch Hand, and UWS Truck Boxes.
Ranch Hand Truck Accessories
Lippert’s Southwest Territory Manager for CURT Manufacturing, Joe Larkin, showed us around the truck, showcasing the stand-out products. Up front, the massive Ranch Hand Legend Bumper with Grille Gaurd was prominently featured. I liked the upper and lower mesh grille guards that offered even more protection. Another benefit is the 2-inch receiver conveniently located and ready for any number of accessories to handle a variety of tasks. This thing was massive in stature and showcased impressive heavy-duty construction. It looked like the truck could drive through a brick wall unscathed.
The big truck had very long and robust Ranch Hand Running Steps that ran longer than the length of the cab and looked like they could support a fleet of Secret Service agents. Not only were there steps located for assisting entry and exit to the front and rear doors, but there was another set of steps to support rear truck bed access. Three handy steps on each side for a total of six.
New from Ranch Hand was the deluxe Headache Rack. We could not find much more information on the website, but the SEMA Show Truck did present a list of featured products. The Ranch Hand Headache Rack will likely sell for the minimum Advertised Price (MAP) of $740, there is a vehicle-specific Ranch Hand Mounting Bracket for $245, and there are optional side and center LED Light fixture options.
The Ranch Hand Legend Back Bumper was just as stout in offering protective layers as adding another level of character to the truck. It really did complete the truck and provided a home for other work essentials.
UWS Transfer Tank And Tool Box
Directly behind the Headache Rack was a robust UWS 75 Gallon Aluminum Transfer Tank Tool Box Combination. Every good work truck needs a quality toolbox and more importantly, a large capacity transfer tank to keep the projects and tasks fully fueled. This Ram 2500 work horse was no exception.
Curt Manufacturing Tow Products
Now in the truckbed, the main feature was the Curt RockerBall Cushion Hitch Gooseneck Ball. This setup is not your average gooseneck and is specifically designed to reduce all the feedback clunking noise and contact made at the hitch connection. With this system, you can enjoy the long haul even on the most bumpy back roads, although it will cost a hefty $500.
We do not know if that price tag includes the Over-Bed Gooseneck Installation Brackets, but we did spy the Curt Deep-Drop Adjustable Trailer Hitch Dual Ball on the bumper. Overall, there is no doubt this truck is well-suited for work duties. Well done Glover Customs on this big black Ram 2500 work horse.
