Ultimate Callout Challenge: Day One Results From Indianapolis, IN

The weather gods literally rained down on us today in Indianapolis for the 2019 edition of the Ultimate Callout Challenge. A wet morning led to an unfortunate late start resulting in cold, late night action. As the rain quit, the pits began to fill with qualifier and competitor trucks as well as a sea of spectators. Let’s dive into the day one action with both dyno and drag racing action.

In this event, like years past, the top 30 trucks in the country battle it out in three events: drag racing, dyno, and sled pulling. Pulling the farthest or going the fastest won’t win you this event. It’s about who built the most consistent truck for all three events. Each event has a point system awarding each driver for their performance.

Like last year, the Ultimate Callout Challenge has the qualifiers event simultaneously offering action every direction you look.

Although there was no Shown-N-Shine on Day 1, and the rain kept everyone at their hotels for a while, there was still a good amount of trucks and builds to be checked out. On top of sweet builds, the new D & J Precision Machine billet aluminum Cummins block was unveiled in their booth. What a work of art.

Day one was the drag racing competition for the UCC competitors to see who could lay down the fastest elapsed time. For the UCC qualifiers, they started their long weekend with the dyno competition to see who could push their trucks to the limit on the rollers. What a wild day of competition. See below for the results of Day 1.

Last year UCC qualifier finalist, Cory Witteveen, got his taste of the big show and is sitting in 13th place after one day of competition. How will he fare on dyno day?

Overall Standings Day One

New York native, Mike Wysowski, laid down an incredible number on day one and is sitting safely in the number one spot heading into the second day of action.

UCC Qualifier Overall Standings

With Day 1 in the books, it’s time for everyone to prepare for the second day of competition. Day 2 will bring the dyno competition for the UCC drivers, while the UCC Qualifiers will take a stab at the dragstrip. Stay tuned for the same-day results right here on Diesel Army.
