Having been into trucks for decades, we have seen a lot of evolution in this market. When air suspension was first introduced into the aftermarket, it was really to make a vehicle that wasn’t drivable – actually drivable. The trucks with air suspensions felt like you were on a pogo stick going down the road; constantly bouncing all over the place. But it was “cool as hell” to pull up to a show, dump the bags and set the frame on the ground. Today, air suspensions are pretty common on many factory vehicles and a few aftermarket companies are actually offering systems that are pretty comparable. We stopped by Kelderman at the SEMA Show to see what they had new.
Kelderman has always been a premium suspension company offering many of the latest and greatest features as standard options. So, when we found out that they were introducing an eight to 10-inch lift kit for the Ram 3500, we definitely wanted to know more! “We are proud to continue to offer more Ram products and yet still maintain the highest quality and best riding kits in the marketplace,” says Kasey Sutherland of Kelderman.
The new lift kits are full 4-link systems, front and rear with air bags. The factory coil and leaf springs are removed. To control the system, an Accuair touch pad allows the user to adjust the height from 4-inches all the way up to 14-inches. To help provide a great ride, Fox Racing reservoir shocks are provided with the kit. With their height sensors, the trucks maintain ride height even when towing heavy loads for improved stability and handling. These kits are really designed for work and play – stay tuned as we cover more in-depth Kelderman builds, right here on Diesel Army!
