Reader’s Ride Of The Week: Braden Burym’s ’05 Dodge 2500

Burym8

As Diesel Army continues to select our Reader’s Ride Of The Week, we cannot help but notice the great vehicles you guys drive. We are quite impressed by the breath and scope of your rides and hope that you guys are finding this series not only interesting and cool, but are being impressed by the rides that our readers are driving!

Burym7This week, we headed north to Canada. Braden Burym has a ’05 Dodge Ram 2500 that is pretty special. Judging by the photos he sent us, this rig is used and is not a show truck. This is despite the great appearance the truck has and the quality parts that are in it! This thing certainly stands out in a crowd!

Perhaps it is his 8” BDS Suspension lift paired with a set of 20” BMF Wheels wrapped in 40” Irok Super Swampers that helps him stand out. Or it could be the custom roof rack with spare tire mounted on top that adds to its impressive size. It certainly doesn’t hurt that he added Iron Cross Automotive bumpers front and rear to add to the intimidating stance. Or, maybe the truck stands out from a crowd due to the full custom wrap that he added. Whatever it is, this is one rig that is hard to miss.

Burym2“I use this truck to commute to work border to border across Saskatchewan Canada working on the oil rigs in Alberta,” says Burym. “It’s my “rig rocket.” [I] built this truck to stand out from the normal looking trucks and to go ice fishing,” continued Burym.

To give the truck the extra umph needed, the stock injectors were upgraded to 100 horsepower injectors and the factory lift pump was upgraded to a 150 gph lift pump. Then he swapped out the factory exhaust in favor of a 4” exhaust system from the turbocharger back. To control it all, a Bully Dog GT Tuner was installed.

Being that he regularly finds himself out in the sticks with very little around, Burym opted to upgrade his stock transmission to a Heavy Hauler transmission from NADP and added a BD Diesel Performance’s Cool It tranny cooler to help manage the tranny temperature. To ensure that nothing steps out in front of him when he is headed out, he added a 32” and 42” Rigid Industries light bars.
