Let’s face it, most of us own a diesel truck because we tow. No,w not all of us will be hooked to a 40+ foot gooseneck trailer seven days a week hauling umpteen million pounds every day.  Whether you tow once a year or a few times a year, having the right hitch setup is extremely important.

This year, they are introducing their Patriot Slider. “The Patriot Slider gives people with short bed trucks a slider option for easy maneuvering,” said Luck Smith, Region Account Manager for B&W Trailer Hitches. The slider can move 12 inches backwards to provided the extra clearance necessary for sharp tuners. While this isn’t necessary with long bed truck, due to how close the axle center line is to the rear of the cab on a short bed, this can really make the difference between damaging the truck and not.

The Patriot Slider can be operated by one person. Simply pull the handle up to release the hitch and allow it to slide. Then by moving the truck forward  the hitch can slide forward or backwards.

For those of you who have a newer RAM, B&W is releasing their companion hitch that will fit into the factory pucks. These have a 25,000 lb rating. If you already own a coupler, then you can just buy the base to make your existing setup work on the new trucks.

Trailer Locks

Lastly, for all you Harley-Davidson owners, they have released a mounting system for your trailer. The system is comprised of a top and bottom mounting plate (which sandwich the bed floor together) and a set of easy clamps that connect to a factory Harley-Davidson frame. The system makes securing your bike a 30 second job and one that can easily be done by one person.

They introduced the turnover ball system in 1988 and it completely redefined what was possible out of a gooseneck receiver.
