SEMA 2019: Stage 8 Locking Fasteners Releases Diesel Hardware

To be honest, there have been some companies at the SEMA Show that I haven’t come across yet. Stage 8 Locking Fasteners is one of these companies, but I’m glad I ran into them. They have one of the coolest products out there that are so helpful to us diesel guys and gals looking to keep our hardware tight as it should be.

Stage 8 Locking Fasteners Vice President of Techincal Support, Glenn Thompson, took us around the booth for a quick tour and showed us around all of the neat gadgets. We then made a stop at the diesel specific parts. This locking fastener kit for the Cummins engine will work on the pesky exhaust manifold studs or bolts that tend to come out or rattle loose. It isn’t just the manifold hardware either. These engines create a lot of vibration and things come loose. With the help of the locking fasteners, they won’t.

“It’s a three-step system, but when applied correctly, your hardware is secure until you’re ready for removal,” said Thompson. “You have your bolt in this case that is grooved through the top for the retaining ring, and then you have your teardrop pin that keeps things from spinning. We offer grade-10.9 nuts, and bolts are grade-8, and they have been duplex nickel-plated.”
