Although this may be the most extraordinary year we’ve ever encountered, the SEMA Show must go on. Somehow, someway, SEMA 360 is now. This virtual experience has kept us in the SEMA spirit being able to see what companies are coming out with at the end of this year and as we make our way into 2021 right here on our smartphones/computers.

For Goerend Transmission, the 48RE transmissions were the focal point for the research and development team this year. “When other options for pump gears didn’t meet our quality and standard tolerance standards, we partnered with Boundary Pump Gears, experts in their field, to design a new one,” said Marisa Goerened, Marketing Manager for Goerend.

“We needed to design a 48RE pump gear that was better and that is what we did. This pump gear set not only holds the tight clearances needed to maintain consistent pressures but it also flows up to 15-percent more volume than OE gears.” This Boundary pump gear is made from double heat-treated Chromoly steel and will not wear like other powdered-metal process gears.

These will work for all 48RE transmissions in the 1989-2007 Ram trucks. As you can see from the graphs above, there is a temperature improvement using these gears over the OE gears.
