With the continual addition of emissions equipment on our trucks, more and more stuff is being added to the underside of them. So, much so, that it is making it quite difficult to upgrade our factory fuel tank.

Sure, auxiliary fuel tanks mounted in the bed will always work, but not all of us want to lose that valuable real estate or even can. So, under body fuel tanks are a very common and popular upgrade that a lot of us do. If you have purchased a ’13 or ’14 RAM, you may have found that there are no underbody tanks available…well that is until now!

Aero Tanks in San Bernardino, California has, recently, announced they have tanks available for crew cab long beds. These are 52 gallon tanks that bolt directly in place of your factory tank. You don’t have to remove or move your DEF tank, cut anything or drill any new holes.

Then they go one step further and offer an 18 gallon companion tank that is mounted above the spare tire. Now this doesn’t get rid of your spare tire. The spare tire is dropped down, this tank is mounted and then the spare tire is re-installed, but this time it is about 7” lower. So, yeah, from the rear, you can see the tire hanging down a little, but really that is a small price to pay for an extra 18 gallon range.

Now if they can only do something about the $270 dollar fill up!
