As the new year fast approaches, it is once again that time to start looking for a new calendar to hang on the wall. Shell Oil Company, just released their Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar for 2014.
The calendar features 12 really good looking heavy duty trucks placed in very cool scenery. The featured trucks were picked out of the best that participated in the 31st annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs event in Tomah, Wisconsin. Each truck is photographed with some of the most scenic locations in the Tomah area.
This year’s cover truck is a stunning 2012 Peterbilt 389 owned by Bill Rethwisch (also, the November calendar truck). Inspired by his favorite orange popsicle (yep, we said popsicle) Rethwisch decided to go with a Omaha Orange and white paint scheme on the truck and trailer. He ended up winning “Best Of Show”. At night Rethwisch is able to light up the area with his 245 lights. If you think this truck is all show, you are wrong. Rethwisch actually runs every day of the year, except he takes a week off for the SuperRigs show.
Oddly enough, the January truck of Dallas McCord, also, features an orange and white paint scheme. McCord’s 2007 Peterbilt 379 has been a labor of love. He graced the cover back in 2010 and shortly after, decided to completely redesign the truck and that is what you see today. Special touches like real gold leaf letting and sunburst battery boxes really help make this truck a standout.
No matter which month you are looking at, the trucks are absolutely cool. Trev Timblin’s 1982 Peterbilt 362 is the oldest workhorse out of the bunch. It has actually logged over 1.82 million miles over the past 31 years. Timblin certainly does baby his rig because the paint and chrome are flawless.
On the flip side of that, you have Luke Saunders’ 2013 Freightliner Coronado 132, Heather Hermstand and Kyle Hennings’ 2013 Peterbilt 386, and TJ Timblin’s 2013 Peterbilt 389 which are all about a year old. If you are into trucks with more than 6 wheels, this is the calendar for you to drool all over! The calendars are available for purchase at www.Rotella.com.
