Ford’s Super Duty lineup has never struggled when it comes to brute strength, but for 2027 the heavy-duty truck is evolving in a way diesel enthusiasts will immediately appreciate: more factory off-road hardware, more configuration options, and capability that no longer requires stepping into higher trims or aftermarket upgrades.
The headline changes include Tremor expanding deeper into the lineup, a long-awaited Tremor long-bed configuration, and a surprising new factory 35-inch tire package available on the base XL trim. Ford is even bringing Platinum luxury to chassis cab trucks—something the heavy-haul and motorsports crowd has been asking about for years.
The result is a 2027 Ford Super Duty lineup that’s more configurable than ever, whether the truck spends its life towing, exploring remote trails, or hauling a race car to the next event.

Tremor Expands Across The Lineup
Ford’s Tremor Off-Road Package has become the go-to factory setup for buyers who want legitimate off-road capability without sacrificing the towing and hauling muscle of a heavy-duty truck. For 2027, Ford is making Tremor more accessible than ever.
The package now expands to the XL trim when equipped with the STX Appearance Package, opening the door for buyers who want Tremor capability without moving into higher trim levels.
According to Ford Pro Super Duty Retail Brand Manager Austin Solimine, the move is rooted in direct customer feedback.
“At Ford Pro, we talk a lot about the Essential Economy — the 3 million businesses and 95 million workers across construction, manufacturing, service, energy, and logistics that drive $12 trillion in GDP,” Solimine said. “Our product, engineering, and marketing teams work alongside tradespeople, fleet managers, and owner-operators every day — on jobsites, on service calls, in online forums, and on social media. That constant feedback loop between customers and engineers is how Super Duty raises the bar for more customers every year: they tell us what they need, and we go build it.”
The Tremor hardware itself remains serious. Trucks equipped with the package receive 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires mounted on 18-inch matte black aluminum wheels, along with Tremor-tuned suspension and a factory lift. Off-road control systems include Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, and Rock Crawl Mode, while skid plates and an electronic locking rear differential help protect and deliver traction when the terrain gets rough.
For diesel owners who rely on their truck for both work and recreation, Tremor’s wider availability means it’s easier to spec a heavy-duty truck that can handle towing during the week and trail runs on the weekend.

The Tremor Long Bed Finally Arrives
One of the most common requests from Tremor buyers has been simple: offer the off-road package with an eight-foot bed. For 2027, Ford finally delivers.
The Tremor Off-Road Package can now be ordered on Crew Cab Super Duty models with the 176-inch wheelbase and full 8-foot bed.
That configuration dramatically increases the truck’s versatility. Long beds are still preferred by many heavy-duty buyers for towing stability, hauling large equipment, or accommodating slide-in campers and overlanding setups.
Now those owners can keep the extra bed space while still getting Tremor’s off-road hardware.
Ford also pairs the configuration with an available 48-gallon fuel tank, the largest offered on Super Duty. For diesel owners covering long distances or towing across remote areas, that extra range could be just as valuable as the truck’s trail capability.

Factory 35s Come To The XL
Perhaps the most interesting change for enthusiasts comes at the entry level of the lineup. Ford is introducing an XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package, allowing buyers to order a base-model Super Duty with factory 35-inch tires straight from the dealership.
The package builds on the original XL Off-Road Package that launched in 2023 but adds more ground clearance and larger tires for customers who asked for additional capability.
The setup includes 35-inch off-road tires mounted on 18-inch cast aluminum wheels, a factory ride-height increase using unique front springs, performance shocks, and a limited-slip front differential paired with an electronic locking rear differential. Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, and Rock Crawl Mode are also included, along with transfer case and fuel tank skid plates.
A full-size 35-inch spare is included, and the exterior intentionally remains free of decals or graphics—something many commercial operators specifically requested.
The original package remains in the lineup as the XL Off-Road 33-Inch Tire Package, effectively creating two levels of off-road capability in the base trim. Both can also be paired with the available Ford Performance 12,000-lb Warn winch.

Platinum Comes To The Chassis Cab
Ford also addressed a different type of request for 2027—one that came from buyers building high-end specialty rigs. The Platinum trim level is now available on Super Duty chassis cab models including the F-350, F-450, and F-550.
Solimine said the idea came from conversations with customers building expensive specialty trucks. “Here’s a conversation I’ve had more times than I can count: an upfitter or owner-operator walks me through a high-dollar overlanding rig, a custom horse hauler, or a tow rig for their race team — and asks, ‘Why can’t I get a Platinum interior on my F-550 Chassis Cab?’”
The trim brings premium leather seating surfaces, Platinum interior appointments, and Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment system with enhanced voice recognition.

A Truck Built For The Essential Economy
Ford refers to Super Duty as the “unofficial truck of the Essential Economy,” referencing the industries that rely on heavy-duty trucks every day. Those industries are massive. According to Ford Pro, the Essential Economy includes 3 million businesses and 95 million workers across construction, manufacturing, service, energy, and logistics, representing roughly $12 trillion in GDP.
That real-world feedback continues to shape how Super Duty evolves, with many of the 2027 updates directly responding to customer requests—from Tremor long beds to more affordable off-road packages.
More Capability, Straight From The Factory
For diesel enthusiasts, the 2027 Super Duty lineup represents something increasingly valuable: capability that no longer requires aftermarket upgrades to achieve.
Factory 35-inch tires on an XL, Tremor available across more trims, a long-bed Tremor configuration, and luxury options for chassis cab trucks all point to the same strategy—giving buyers more flexibility when they spec their truck.
Order banks for the 2027 Ford Super Duty are scheduled to open in May, with pricing and full build details expected to follow later this year.
