Automotive manufacturers have been churning out performance editions for many, many years. Until recently, they were all street performance minded vehicles. When vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and Ford Raptor started hitting showroom floors, manufacturers began to realize the public wants factory modified off-road vehicles. GMC recently announced their newest limited-edition vehicle, the Sierra 2500HD All Terrain X.
The All Terrain X is based on a crew cab 2500HD Sierra with either the 6.0-liter gas V8 or the all-new, next-generation Duramax 6.6-liter V8 turbo-diesel. The new engine was certified by SAE International, an independent company, for 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.
The All Terrain X package is also available on Canyons and Sierra 1500 trucks. On the 2500HD, the added feature list is extensive. Suspension duties are handled by the Z71 off-road suspension package and LT2750/65R18 Goodyear Duratrac MT tires wrapped around 18-inch black painted aluminum wheels. The grille is paint matched to the truck and houses a special edition All Terrain insert. Many other components are body colored painted throughout.
The exterior also features 4-inch black sport side steps as well as a sport bar mounted in the bed, ready to support available LED off-road driving lights from GMC Accessories. The truck is offered in Black Onyx and Summit White exterior colors.
Inside the truck, beyond the already premium GMC interior are more additions. Included are a heated steering wheel, adjustable pedals, leather seats, heated front seats and a wireless charging system. In the dash resides an 8-inch GMC IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment system.
For many, the GMC Sierra 2500HD All Terrain X is a modified truck of their dreams. The rest of us, we’ll still find ways to modify it even further. For more info on the new truck, check out the GMC website.
