When you work in the performance aftermarket, you pretty much have to have something cool to drive. Most of us are gearheads and our rides reflect who we are. So, whether you work for a performance shop that works on engines that require spark plugs or if the engine of choice ignites its fuel from pressure, you have to bring it.
A few months ago, we came across the 2006 Chevrolet 2500 that our friends at Alligator Performance built. This killer little truck is on the edge of being a 9 second truck and if you haven’t read the article, you really should click here.
Well, Jason Martinez, Marketing Manager for Alligator Performance, reached out to us because they just finished putting together a really cool daily driver for one of their guys. The base truck is a 2015 Chevrolet LML Duramax that has all the right stuff in the right places.
Giving the truck a great stance, they opted to install a CST Leveling kit and paired it with Bilstein 5100 shocks. The wheels are Fuel Off-Road Lethal wrapped with Toyo Open Country A/T’s. To ensure the truck is never pigeon toed, a set of Rare Parts G2 tie rods were installed.
Under the hood, a Deviant Race Parts (DRP) EGR delete was installed along with an aFe Power dual exhaust kit mounted to a MBRP downpipe. To make sure no engine codes are thrown and there is plenty of power available, the truck runs custom EFILive tuning done by Motor Ops. Then, they opted to install an Edge Products Insight CTS to keep an eye of everything.
To make sure the truck can still haul what is needed, they opted to install a Pacbrake Airbag kit along with a B&W gooseneck hitch. Protecting the gears they, also, upgraded the rear diff cover to a PPE aluminum cover.
The guys at Alligator Performance really focused on the key areas and have put together an attractive truck with the right parts.

In addition to the above mentioned parts, Alligator Performance, also, opted to install a DRP fuel sump on the truck.
