Continuing with the MAHLE Motorsport tradition, they have spread their support to the late 6.7-Liter Cummins with a new piston design that is designed to handle high performance. These pistons feature an exclusive M142P alloy because of its high temperature strength and low expansion characteristics.
These performance forged piston kits also feature modified bowls that mimic the design of the industrial QSB applications, offer a 16.0:1 compression ratio, come with a 2.772″ compression height allowing for 0.010″ of deck machining while retaining stock piston protrusion, oversize 0.200″ deep valve pockets which allow for 1.500″ intake and 1,450″ exhaust valve diameter.
These Performance Forged Diesel Kits feature pistons with MAHLE’s exclusive M142P alloy chosen for its high temperature strength and low expansion characteristics, German steel pins, and a stainless steel nitride ring set. Performance bowls with design features intended to reduce erosion issues caused by high pressure, long duration, advanced injection timing. Fully radiused valve pockets to reduce stress and fatigue cracking. The pistons are dual coated, first hard anodized top ring groove for add durability and increased longevity, then with MAHLE’s Grafal skirt coating for greatly reduced drag and wear.
