Strumming through the iterwebs, we stumbled onto this beautiful 2015 two-toned Ford F-350. At a glance, with all of the orange accents, the first thing I think of is Deathstroke. A very popular DC villain with the same paint scheme and just so happens to have the word stroke in his name. Davey Sutton envisions his pride and joy that he uses for daily driving.
Sutton’s truck has been completely painted from end to end with a custom touch to his taste and features quite a bit of extra add-ons to give it this tasteful flash. Eight-piece rock light kit,
Alpharex headlight lenses,
aFe POWER differential cover, and a 2-inch
AnyLevel spring kit. All of this is mixed with a set of 22-inch wheels. “For the summer, I run a set of 22-inch by 14-inch
American Force wheels,” Sutton says. “In the winter, its 22-inch by 10-inch
Fuel Off-Road Contra wheels.”
See what I mean? Excuse me while I nerd out.
I talked with Sutton about this truck, and other than being a daily driver, he says he uses this truck as a mobile unit for his truck and bus company. Hailing from New Castle, Deleware, the winter usually runs long so this truck stays busy. “I get to strap tow school buses at work on occasion and have a plow on the front throughout the winter time,” Sutton says.
Other than looking great, he relies on some additional horsepower to get these jobs done. This extra horsepower is credited to the full five-inch exhaust system, bigger injectors, new turbocharger, and
Pusher Intake‘s full intake piping kit. Pusher, one of our great clients, has really pushed the bar up with their latest parts for the Power Stroke trucks.
“I’ve got this truck just about where I want it. I’ve done the interior and completed the exterior, it runs great and as I said, it’s my mobile unit now. It’s a full-time work truck. Whatever I need to do, it can handle it.” – Dave Sutton
The research and development for this system were ongoing for over two years. Pusher wanted to make sure that whatever they were bringing to market was going to be top-notch and Sutton is on board with it. “Our system for the 2011+ Ford 6.7-Liter trucks got a lot of our time and effort,” said Jacob Allenbaugh, Owner of Pusher Intakes. “We spent a lot of time in design and testing to obtain perfectly balanced air delivery and compatibility across numerous turbo configurations.”
Sutton decided to go with a Gloss Orange coating on his plumbing to match the exterior accents and as you can see it turned out flawless. We've worked with Pusher for a long time and their attention to detail is incredible.
Since I’ve run Pusher parts before on another platform, I didn’t have experience with this specific kit. I know with the parts I’ve used the after was definitely noticeable. Per Pusher, you can expect a 150-degree drop in EGTs on stock-fueled and turboed trucks, and a 0.5-1.0 miles per gallon increase, and faster spool-up time.
When I talked with Sutton about his kit, he was eager to relay that this was not false advertisement. “When this kit was on and complete, I noticed a huge difference immediately into driving it. I noticed that the exhaust temperatures were lower when driving around, I noticed out of the hole the truck moved sooner so the little lag that was there wasn’t anymore, and above all else, it looks awesome!”
I’ve taken the liberty to name this truck “Deathstroke”, but regardless of its name, Sutton has quite the machine. When you see pictures of this truck, the last thing you think of is a work truck, to be honest. I’m proud to cover a truck like this that can look good in pictures but behind the scenes be earning its stay. What are your thoughts on this truck? Let us know in the comments below.
