eBay Find: Unbelievable Custom Four-Linked F-650 Under 30 Grand

2015-07-16_22-30-29Has your six-inch lifted truck grown a bit too pedestrian for your tastes? Do you grow weary of not being the highest point in the parking lot? Maybe you are just looking for a sensible midsize commuter, say something in the 25-30K range. Well we have you covered! For the low low price of $29,500 you could be the proud new owner of what’s likely the most ridiculous Ford this side of the Mississippi.

This 2000 F-650 is equipped with four-wheel drive courtesy of a pair of Rockwell five-ton axles. This mammoth-sized truck is suspended by a completely custom four-linked tubular front and rear system.  Rolling down the road on a fully adjustable air ride suspension this F-650 includes reservour shocks on all four corners.

Dampening the massive unsprung weight of the articulating 49-inch Michelin military tires requires the massive suspension. Braking on this mountain of a machine is handled by air brakes to compliment the military rig aesthetic.

2015-07-16_22-30-12Rolling over the largest of obstacles will become a triviality on such enormous rubber! Powering this monumental work of detroit iron is and equally iconic powerplant. A four-cylinder, 7.0-liter, Caterpillar C7 turbo-diesel engine sits right in front. Transffering the torque and horsepower from this industrial strength engine is no small feat when considering the challenges of rotating mass, rolling resistance, and shear size of this four-wheel drive baby monster truck. Power transfer is handled by a seven-speed manual Spicer transmission.

Wrapped in a custom ironworker, riveted sheetmetal-like vinyl, this truck screams industry, labor, and pride in the values of American work ethic and diesel power. So if you want to have your own monster truck, here’s the next best thing, and for less than a new hatchback. Food for thought!
