Do you ever just see something and double or even triple take? This is exactly what happened to me when I was walking through the 2021 SEMA show when I caught a glimpse of Elvis Kerns’ build. Sitting outside, surrounded by hundreds of other vehicles, I see this billboard-sized vehicle with what looked to be a diesel engine nestled behind the cab.
Sure enough, it was. I caught up with Elvis to get some info on the build and he said that this was a project that was done right in his backyard shop in Mulberry, Florida. It has come lightyears from where it was and after seeing the finished product, myself and the rest of the showgoers appreciate the time and effort Elvis and his team have put into this.
The engine behind the cab is in fact a healthy 12-valve Cummins engine and it features two good-sized turbochargers making this International way cooler than it was before. On the backside of that is a sturdy Allison 1000 transmission. With a stout driveline underneath, the old International rides low on an Accuair Suspension system, Detroit Steel wheels, and Nitto Diamond Back tires.
Elvis wanted to thank everyone that supported him to get to this point including Detroit Steel, Nitto Tire, Accuair, Multiroll.net, Talent Performance And Fab, and Suburbia Sudz. What are your thoughts on his sweet ride? Let us know in the comments below!
