Event Alert: OcTURBOfest-Diesel’s On The Mountain 2020

Just north of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park and nestled in the eastern edge of Tennessee is English Mountain Raceway. Located in Newport, Tennessee, English Mountain will be invaded by diesel trucks come October, 23rd, and 24th which means event season is not quite over yet. If you’re even remotely close to this area, you need to be here.
If you’re wanting to participate or watch some of the best heads up racing in the area, be sure and check out this event that will be hosted by Epling Garage and True Street Diesel. On Friday the 23rd, the track will be open for test and tune and there will be plenty of time for call outs, grudge racing, and more. This will be open to both diesel power and gas trucks too.

Do you have what it takes to compete with some of the industry’s hottest trucks? Grab a lane and find out!

Admission at the gate is $20 for each day you attend as a spectator. If you’re wanting to participate, a test and tune tech card is another $20. As for Saturday, there will be multiple classes to watch an choose from. This includes Outlaw Diesel, Street Truck Showdown, Single Turbo, Stick Shift, and lastly, the Stock Appearing class.
Gates open at 3:00 PM on Friday and 11:00 AM on Saturday.
Stick Shift– It’s as simple as it reads. Anything diesel-powered with a manual transmission will go head to head, first to the finish line with a sportsman tree and a $40 buy-in with the winner taking it all.
Stock Appearing- For those of you who are still utilizing a stock turbo, a modified stock turbo, or a stock appearing turbo, this class is for you. $50 buy-in, instant green tree, 80/20 split at the end. (Second-Gen swaps are permitted)
Single Turbo- As for the single turbo class, same as above. Each vehicle must be diesel-powered and it must be trusted by one and only one turbocharger. With that, you’re not allowed to use the help from nitrous oxide, either. $50 buy-in, 70/30 split at the end.
Street Truck Showdown- Moving on, the Street Truck Showdown is for the full-weight pickups that still make nasty power. This is a “Run What You Brung” class that requires you to complete a cruise. There will be two rounds of testing after the cruise and then after a $50 buy-in, the victor will take home all of the money.
Outlaw Diesel Class-  Like the Street Truck Showdown, the Outlaw Class is a Run What You Brung class, instant green start, two rounds of testing, but there is no cruise and the buy-in is now $100.
Think you have what it takes to compete in either of these classes? What about grudge racing on Friday night? Have a beef to settle? Lock it in on Friday night.
