Justin Zeigler’s UCC Truck Tops Firepunk’s Dyno Chart In Testing

With the Ultimate Callout Challenge quickly approaching we are beginning to see photos and videos of what the competitors anticipate bringing to the event. One such competitor Justin Zeigler is really bringing the heat with the plans on taking home the weekend’s top prize.

Zeigler’s truck has been showcased on the Firepunk Diesel YouTube channel in the past but its most recent transformation and most arguably its biggest eye-catcher is its 5.4 inch Wimer turbo! The new turbocharger setup is accompanied by a whole host of new upgrades including new suspension and multiple lightweight goodies.

At the center of this enormous project is Cody Fisher who has played an enormous role in fabricating and building many of the difficult intricacies of a 2000+ horsepower diesel truck.  Cody was responsible for wiring the majority of the truck and fabricating the suspension and turbo piping system.

The Wimer turbo is displayed right out in front for all to see.

As you can imagine, building piping for such a large turbo is nothing short of custom.  The Firepunk team had to use 6-inch piping to build the truck’s hood stack in place of the 5-inch pipe they usually use.  As you can hear from the dyno shots, this custom stack gives the truck a deep drone that we usually don’t hear with a 5-inch pipe.

Spaghetti pipes would be the most fitting description of what Cody was able to masterfully create here!

While at Firepunk, Zeigler’s truck was outfitted with some new suspension goodies that will help get the truck down the track safely as well as a rack and pinion steering setup which allows for the truck to be lower and obtain a better steering feel. Along with these changes it was fitted with a fiberglass hood that is easily removable to service the 2000+ horsepower unit under the hood.

To top off Zeigler’s UCC truck the horsepower masters at Firepunk were eager to put the truck on the dyno. After making a few baseline pulls to make sure everything was ready for the heat, they began to turn the wick up. The truck was able to make a baseline power of 1316 horsepower at only 900 microseconds of fuel injection. After sorting through small issues and getting the tune file revised the truck was able to make a whopping 2,295-horsepower and 2,050-torque to the tire! Lavon Miller expressed that they brought nitrous in late to make sure there was no dyno carnage before the event!

The new suspension components are critical in lowering the best elapsed time in the Ultimate Callout Challenge drag racing event.

Zeigler’s truck should be a very serious contender for this year’s Ultimate Callout Challenge and we wish him luck in the coming days in getting his sled pulling setup on the truck and ready for some action!  Best of luck to all of the competitors at UCC and make sure to stay tuned to Diesel Army for event coverage to follow!
