It’s almost Mother’s Day and…Yes, I am out there looking for a diesel related Mother’s Day story, when I came across this event coming up tomorrow. The Make A Wish chapter of Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley are hosting an amazing event for the 25th year running. It’s their Mother’s Day Truck Convoy making kids dreams come true either in the trucks or raising money for future endeavors. What a cool concept. It looks like people come from miles around to get behind this event and in 2003 they even set a Guinness World Record for “The World’s Longest Truck Convoy” with 288 trucks, and the very next year they broke their own record with 391 trucks participating. What could be cooler on Mother’s Day. Check out all the official information below and check it out if you’re in town!

About the Convoy
In 1988, a young man named Matt (below) requested a wish to ride in an 18 wheeler and speak to his sister on a CB radio. Over forty trucks and drivers showed up to grant the wish and the Mother’s Day Truck Convoy was conceived. For the past 24 years, the event has been held on Mother’s Day in Lancaster, PA. Over the years the number of trucks has grown to as many as 450 with over 100 wish children as passengers. The event draws approximately 5,000 people that come to see the trucks, attend an auction, play games and enjoy good food.
In 2003 our Convoy set the Guinness World Record for “The World’s Longest Truck Convoy” with 288 trucks, and the very next year we broke our own record with 391 trucks participating.
