A couple of weeks ago we saw this crazy video (the one above) which features a machine designed to polish a wheel. The Aussie Rimshine is a portable truck wheel polisher and it appears to be pretty easy and simple to use.

We have since, reached out to our friends at 3pConnect. 3pConnect is the company that distributes the Aussie Rimshine in the US. They are based out of Southern California and have been overwhelmed by the response of the Rimshine.

The Aussie Rimshine was created by an Australian (who knew right) by the name of Brain McKee. Mckee has been involved in the trucking industry for over 40 years and has always been a big proponent of vehicle upkeep. He realized that companies and owner are spending a huge amount of time polishing and keeping their wheels clean and felt there was a better way of doing it.

There are even attachments for the front wheels.

What he came up with is a relatively simple and yet extremely effective way of keeping your wheels clean and polished. The Aussie Rimshine has three arms that extend into the wheel. Each arm has a polish head (most rim contours available). A little bit of cleaning compound is applied to the wheel and you simply turn the Rimshine on. The rotory action of the Rimshine ensures that all of the surfaces of the wheel are cleaned.

Depending on how dirty the wheels are, will depend on how much pressure you, the operator need to apply. Pressure is applied by pushing the Rimshine into the wheel. For operators who regularly clean their wheels, it may only take four minutes to have clean, polished wheels. These not only make inspection easier and quicker, but help give the truck a more professional and clean appearance. For those that get into a lot of debris and don’t regularly clean your wheels, it may take 15 to 20 minutes to clean. Far less than the hour plus it currently takes with conventional methods.
