We have been working hard to bring you the latest in custom vehicle builds. We, recently, came across Josh Hester’s 2013 Ford F-250 that he is building for this year’s SEMA Show.
If you have ever been to the SEMA Show you cannot help but get the bug of building a truck. But as you know, building a truck is a ton of work and really requires the right connections to get it done. Well, last year, Hester worked with a well known builder (Cody Elkins) on one of Elkins’ SEMA Show trucks. So, Elkins asked Hester if he wanted to go to the show. It was Hester’s first trip and that was all it took.
“Being able to see my work being displayed on such a large scale was so exciting. When it was all over I thanked Cody and told him I’d love to put my truck in this show one day. He said lets do it” exclaimed Hester.
So, the following year (this year) Hester is working with Elkins to build his 2013 Ford F-250 for the show! It all starts with a massive 16 inch lift from 3rd Coast Lifts that feature a four link setup with Fox coilovers front and rear. This lift gives way for the 40 inch tall Toyo Tires housing 22 inch Hostile wheels.
To give the truck an aggressive look, the front and rear bumpers were swapped out for some N-fab bumpers. The front bumper holds 2 Rigid Industries lights. The behind the custom one off RaceMesh Grilles, there are 2 more Rigid Industries lights, along with a 54 radius LED light bar from Rigid as well. If that isn’t enough light, Plain & Simple went through the headlights and completely redid them.
The bed features an Undercover Lux hard tonneau cover. To see what is in the bed at night, a set of Automatic Cargo Lights was mounted in the bed. To help Hester get in and out of his skyscraper, Amp Research power steps were installed.
If the truck by itself isn’t enough to get your attention, Hester made sure that he would be heard. A KLA5 Hornblaster kit was installed with two compressors and a 5 gallon tank. In addition, the exhaust system was replaced with a Flo~Pro exhaust.
To free up a little more power, an SCT Livewire programmer give the truck the extra power needed to turn those massive wheels and tires.
On the inside, the seats will be completely redone with Alea Leather seats with green piping to match the black and green paint. For sound, 3 JL Audio TW513 subwoofers were mounted in a custom box and 2 pairs of Focal KR components, also, installed. The system is powered by 2 JL Audio HD amplifiers and the system is actually run off of the factory head unit thanks to the JL Audio Clean sweep and SSI.
Making this possible, are the sponsors. The impressive list includes: JDH, Elkins Designs, 3rd Coast Suspension, B&C Offroad, Hostile wheels, Toyo tires, N-fab, Undercover, AVS, Amp Research, Plain & Simple, Hornblasters, SCT, Automatic Cargo Lights, Rigid Industries, RaceMesh Grilles, Flo~Pro Exhaust, and Alea Leather. KP Concepts rendered the truck for Hester.
“We are almost finished with my dream truck! I won’t be building another vehicle for myself next year, but I would be honored to work with Cody again on his next build. Thanks again to all my sponsors and Cody Elkins for making this build possible,” mentioned Hester.
