Smoke Racks is a new company based in Texas, but shouldn’t be considered a start up. The owners own a construction and fabrication company based in Granbury, TX (GCH Services). They have been servicing the gas service industry for about 12 years now. So, this company has been around and they know what they are doing.
According to Malcom Petty, Owner, they were looking to diversity and with many of the guys being big time diesel enthusiasts, it just made sense to enter the diesel market. They have some incredibly talented welders and fabricators at GCH Service and when they decided to build these Smoke Racks, they opted to have these same guys fabricate the racks. So, they are 100% American made.
The racks are all 11 gauge which is roughly 0.120” steel. They are currently built in one style and made to fit Ford, Chevy, Dodge and/or RAM. The coats are pretty trick. GCH Services worked with Sherman Williams extensively in their field with specialty paints. So, when they started this design, they knew normal paint wouldn’t hold up.
So, they turned to Sherman Williams and they are using a brand new ceramic base paint that is a high heat paint. It is available in 11 different base colors and in their testing, it has been extremely durable and is capable of withstanding the exhaust temperatures without flaking, bubbling, or cracking.
These are ready to order and available. So, jump on this now before this trend is the new “norm” as we are sure these are going to be extremely popular. They are just too cool not to be.
