Around the first of the year, we got wind of a really cool project that Greg Bastien was building (click here for the original article). Bastien is a custom chopper builder and one of the three members of Dirty Hands Choppers. They build a bunch of unique choppers and vehicles. Now before you go do a search, they are the first ones to say they aren’t a business, but they do build quite a few choppers. (Here is a link to their website to check it out.)
So, back to the Cadillac!
While this Cadillac isn't finished, we are starting to get a clear picture what Bastien has in mind. This will certainly be a very cool and unique project when he is finished!
Over the past few months a few more videos have popped up of the Caddy rolling to and from a few car shows. Most significantly, is the one above. This is Bastien’s first outing with the chopped Caddy. He decided to chop the roof down 3 inches.
In addition to the chop, we have learned more about the supercharger/turbo setup. Originally, we had the understanding that the car started out with a supercharger/turbocharger setup and then he went back to a single turbocharger. What we have learned is that the Eaton M90 Supercharger was added after the turbocharger and they are not compounded. The supercharger blows into the intake manifold and the turbocharger, also, blows into the manifold. They are running parallel.
We will keep an eye out for more info and hope to cover the car in much greater detail when Bastien considers it complete!
