Vans are for work, but in case you haven’t noticed—vans are for fun, too. Family fun. Introducing 27North’s new four-seater van layout called Venture Together. Now, instead of creating memories by escaping from the family, you can create memories by escaping with the family—because life is better when it’s shared with others.

So why cover #vanlife, besides the fact that these vans are downright rad? For various reasons, the platform that many companies in the space prefer to up-fit is the diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The Venture Together is built on the 170-inch-wheelbase high-roof Sprinter 2500 equipped with the High Output diesel engine that supports all-wheel drive.

If you haven’t kept up with Sprinter news, here’s a quick recap. Mercedes overhauled the Sprinter for model-year 2023 with revised engine offerings and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, among other changes. The automaker ditched the 188-hp 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel. Additionally, the 2.0-liter I4 twin-turbo diesel (also mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission) was replaced by the new OM654 2.0-liter I4 twin-turbo diesel in two outputs—a Standard Output with 168 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque and a High Output with 208 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque—mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Selectable four-wheel drive was replaced by full-time AWD that provides a 50-percent torque split between the axles. A carryover 2.0-liter four-banger gasoline engine was dropped for 2024, proverbially replaced by the all-electric eSprinter. The bottom line is that all new 2025 Sprinter vans are diesel (or electric), and the AWD Sprinter—the choice of many adventure van up-fitters—comes equipped with the High Output engine.

While the 27North Venture Together has a commanding exterior, the real magic happens on the inside. Behind the swiveling driver and passenger seats, a bench seat has room for two non-fighting passengers, as these aren’t captain’s chairs. A 10-inch-deep stainless steel sink and dual-burner induction cooktop reside on opposite sides behind the bench seat. There’s also a microwave and stainless steel fridge/freezer stuffed in the galley. A leather dinette (that converts into a bed) with dual Lagun tables leads to a full-size wet bath (with a cassette toilet) and a gear garage with dual bike racks. Overhead aluminum racks store gear, and premium birch cabinetry stows camping goods and food. Dimmable LED ceiling, toe kick, and under-cabinet lighting reduce frustration and increase productivity. There’s a 24-inch TV, Wet Sounds 6.5-inch speakers, indoor/outdoor Bluetooth stereo, a bevy of 110-volt outlets and USB ports, and much more. The Venture Together has a 30-gallon fresh water tank and 20-gallon gray water tank.

There’s too much to list when it comes to 27North’s 2025 Venture Together adventure van. The only downside that we see is the $299,000 price-tag. This might induce some severe sticker-shock, but that’s actually right on-par with the insane off-grid van market that exploded in popularity during the pandemic. Who knew that “living in a van down by the river” in extreme comfort and style was actually for those with lots of expendable cash? We learn something new every day!
