In a complete roll reversal, Brian Miner, a trucker in Illinois “man’s up” and pulls over a police offer “allegedly” driving recklessly.
According to the video above, Miner was driving on the state freeway when a state trooper flies by him while on a cell phone. Not only was the police offer “allegedly” speeding, above the posted speed limit, but according to Miner the roads were wet and the officer wasn’t paying attention.
So, how does a truck driver pull an officer over? Simple, he starts honking like mad at the officer until the police officer finally pulls over and then gets behind Miner to pull him over.
When they are both on the side of the road it is interesting to see how Miner handled the situation. Clearly as a professional trucker, he stands to lose a lot if the office starts to really nit pick his records, truck, etc. This action could have easily cost Miner a lot of money. But what Miner does is priceless. He records the entire conversation and is very point blank with the cop.
The office says he pulled him over because of the honking and didn’t know what that was all about. Miner says “Because you were speeding, and had your cell phone in your hand.”
“No, the cell phone was…Police officers can actually use technology when they are driving,” comments the officer.
“So you are above the law?” Miner says right back. Just laying into the cop and not letting him off.
“We are exempt,” replies the officer.
Over the next couple of minutes the officer and Miner go back and forth until eventually Miner lets the officer know he is recording him.
When the officer comes back to the truck, he was pretty cool. Perhaps he had a few minutes to think about what Miner had to say, or he knew he was being recorded. Either way, a very different officer returned.
What do you think? Was Miner justified in what he did? Would you have the courage to stand up to an officer like that?
