Hats off to Nissan, as the company has decided to go “all in” with their new Titan XD truck and the commitment to diesel. Earlier this year, they debuted the new Titan and at the time, announced the initial allocation of the new truck will be 100-percent diesel!

Yes, you read that right. Every Nissan Titan coming off the line will initially be a Titan XD. The XD houses a 5.0-liter V8 Cummins that will deliver 310 ponies under the hood and produce 555 stump-pulling pound-feet of torque. Nissan partnering with Cummins for this engine is an extremely smart move.

If you are reading this, then you already know how reliable the Cummins brand engines are, and that they have a very strong following. Attend any diesel event and you will probably find more Cummins-powered competitors than Duramax and Power Stroke combined.

The power and reliability of the Cummins brand engines are one of the things Nissan is banking on. “It is that feeling that the engine always has to give. You never run out and hit the top of the torque curve,“ Rich Miller, director, product planning – Trucks and SUVs, Nissan North America HQ.
