If you’re a fan of diesel drag racing, the 2023 Outlaw Diesel Revenge showcased enough thrilling drag racing action, across multiple classes, to keep your blood pumping. Drivers of the Outlaw Diesel Super Series shared the stage with the Ultimate Callout Challenge competitors for an entire weekend. Having ODSS drag race qualifying and eliminations happening most of the weekend gave the UCC showgoers constant action everywhere they looked.
This weekend was full of everything you could think of. Highly-modified, stock-appearing trucks, old dogs with old power, and so much more.
In the D&J Precision Machine ET Bracket class, Nick Morris emerged as the winner, showcasing his super-consistent pickup. Robin Ridgway put up an intense fight but finished as the runner-up by, unfortunately, running just under her dial. Adam Nichols, Emily Ansteadt, and Eric Snow reached the quarter- and semi-finals. The event offered generous payouts, with Nick Morris taking home $1,000 for the win, and Robin Ridgway receiving $500 as the runner-up. The semi-finalists earned $250 each, and the quarter-finalists received $125 each.
The South Bend Clutch 7.70 Index class at the Outlaw Diesel Revenge witnessed intense competition, with Ryan Riddle ultimately claiming victory. Patrick Race secured the runner-up position, showcasing an impressive performance. Jordan Blackard and Dante Delaney reached the semi-finals, while Nick Morris and Mason Rhodus advanced to the quarter-finals.
Easily one of the prettiest machines on the property this weekend.
In the Thoroughbred Diesel 6.70 Index class, Caleb Brown emerged as the winner. Avery Micek put up a fierce fight all day, but because of an early-start foul, he finished as the runner-up. The semi-finals featured intense battles between Chase Ringer and Brent Elliot. In the quarter-finals, Susan Soga, Brad Helton, Michael Lively, and Daman Perry showcased their talents. The payouts for this class were equally rewarding, with Caleb Brown taking home $1,000 as the winner, Avery Micek earning $500 as the runner-up, and the semi-finalists receiving $250 each. The quarter-finalists were awarded $125 each.
Even though he’s a newcomer to this style of drag racing, Mr. Parrot has managed to garner a few victories already this year.
Jerry Parrott dominated the Firepunk Diesel Outlaw 5.90 category, securing the win. Zack Storms showcased impressive skills but finished as the runner-up. Brett Marcum reached the semi-finals, while Will Cunningham and Nathan Bandstra made it to the quarter-finals.
Justin Zeigler demonstrated exceptional performance again in the PureFlowAirDog Pro Street class, emerging as the winner. Texas’ own, Phillip Franklin, finished as the runner-up after a competitive showing. Wyatt Stengal and Travis Trent reached the semi-finals, showcasing their skills and dedication with their builds.
Chris Gelbaugh takes a full-size street truck and competes with more purpose-built trucks. And he has no problem keeping up. What a cool ride from the eastern side of the United States.
In the Suncoast Performance Pro Mod category of the Outlaw Diesel Revenge, Stainless Diesel’s Johnny Gilbert emerged as the winner, demonstrating the fruits of his hard work on his ’63 Chevrolet Corvette. Ben Shadday and Derek Rose gave tough competition, reaching the semi-finals respectively.
Mattie Graves claimed victory in the AMSOIL Pro Dragster class, leaving her opponents behind. During the event, she even broke the Pro Dragster record multiple times. Jared Jones put up a strong fight but finished as the runner-up. Paul Vasko reached the semi-finals, showcasing his late upgrades to his dragster.
Derek Rose’s Ram, “Blue Ballz”, has undergone quite the transformation over the past winter. He’s still working the bugs out, but this will be a lethal truck in the Pro Mod world soon.
The S&S Diesel Motorsport Shootout Friday night was a competitive battle between Dan Zelton and Austin Doidge. However, it was Zelton who took home the win.
In total, the Outlaw Diesel Revenge event featured a generous payout amounting to $18,800 across all the classes, ensuring the participants were rewarded for their outstanding performances.
