Timed to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, the newly announced special edition Stars & Steel Collection blends patriotic design with real-world capability. While the collection spans sports cars, EVs, and midsize trucks, the clear centerpiece for diesel truck owners is the 2026 Silverado HD Stars & Steel Special Edition, built around Chevrolet’s proven 6.6-liter Duramax diesel.

The Stars & Steel Silverado HD edition is based on the LTZ Crew Cab Trail Boss 4WD, pairing luxury-level comfort with hardware that’s designed to work. The Duramax diesel remains the backbone of the package, delivering the torque, longevity, and towing confidence that diesel owners expect. Chevy didn’t stop at stripes and badges either. This truck comes equipped with serious trailering and off-road capability, including the Max Trailering Package, Z71 Off-Road Package, Trail Boss equipment, a factory spray-in bedliner, and gooseneck and fifth-wheel prep. Whether you’re pulling a large RV, hauling equipment, or heading off pavement, this HD is spec’d to handle it without compromise. Now that’s ‘Merica.

Visually, the Stars & Steel Silverado HD stands apart without going over the top. Summit White or Black paint is paired with American flag–inspired striping and subtle “250” anniversary graphics, available in Satin Silver or Satin Black. High-gloss black 20-inch wheels, off-road assist steps, and blacked-out accents give it a modern, aggressive stance. Inside, the LTZ trim delivers bucket seats, a power sunroof, premium technology, and the kind of comfort that makes long tows and road trips far less tiring.

Chevrolet is also expanding the reach of the Stars & Steel theme beyond complete special editions. Appearance packages will be offered across the truck lineup, creating a cohesive patriotic look while allowing buyers more flexibility. These packages unify each model with matching American-flag striping and “250” graphics, tailored to individual trims, giving customers a more accessible way to participate in the anniversary celebration without committing to a fully loaded special edition.

The rest of the Stars & Steel lineup provides context for Chevy’s broader strategy. The Silverado 1500 version targets performance-minded gas buyers with a 6.2-liter V8 and Brembo brakes. The Silverado EV delivers an electric interpretation with massive wheels and upgraded braking hardware. The Colorado Trail Boss appeals to midsize off-road fans, while the ultra-limited Corvette Stars & Steel model serves as a rolling tribute to American performance.

Beyond the trucks themselves, Chevrolet is tying the collection to a larger mission. Every Stars & Steel vehicle sold will generate a $250 donation to nonprofits supporting veterans, with a one-of-one Corvette auctioned to benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Production is expected to begin in early spring 2026, with pricing to be announced closer to the launch. For diesel enthusiasts, the Silverado HD Stars & Steel stands out as a mix of patriotic styling, serious Duramax capability, and factory-backed heavy-duty hardware. Go America.
