BorgWarner is a name that has been heralded in the halls of automotive performance for decades. With diesel turbocharger technology at the forefront of its expansion, the company has made it possible for the masses to enjoy the wonders of forced induction, something that was once military technology used in aircraft.
And what better way to explore the litany of BorgWarner’s offerings than through the experts at Scheid Diesel? Since 1982, Scheid has been providing service to diesel owners everywhere, reaching applications ranging from agriculture to sled pulling to drag racing.
“We’ve been a dealer for BW for about 20 years,” said Dan Scheid, president of Scheid Diesel. “We’ve had a long relationship with them and a lot of success in running their turbos. We look forward to a bright future coming down the road and all of their new products coming out.”

Currently, one turbocharger worth looking at is the S400 60 Series. Derived from the AirWerks line, this unit is capable of supporting 500 to 1,050 horsepower, and uses Extended Tip technology to do so. The latter comes from the compressor wheel’s vanes, which extend further than normal vanes and allow for a faster spool-up at lower engine speeds.

Going up a notch, there is the S400SX4 turbocharger. This turbo is capable of handling 750 to 1,250 horsepower, and uses the same Extended Tip technology found in the 60 Series. What’s more, it uses a dual hydrodynamic journal bearing, which coats the shaft in a film of oil to prevent rubbing against the housing and keeps everything running smoother for the long haul.
These are just two of the many BorgWarner diesel turbocharger offerings now on sale through Scheid Diesel. Feel free to pick up the phone and talk with Scheid if you need guidance on what you should pick for your application, or if you didn’t find what you were looking for on the product page. The folks at Scheid are always happy to help.
