Show Me More: 2019 Rudy’s Fall Truck Jam Show-N-Shine

On October 4th and 5th 2019, the Rudy’s Fall Truck Jam diesel truck event was hosted at the Piedmont Dragway in Julian, North Carolina. While you have already read about the overall event, in this article we are going to focus on the show-n-shine portion of the event held on Saturday where more than 75 trucks were entered to do battle for the title of Best Cummins, Best Duramax, Best Power Stroke and of course the coveted Best In Show award. As if the custom trophies that the crew from Rudy’s Performance Parts created were not enough reason to draw some of the best trucks in the country to the event, the $500 cash prize for each winning category surely didn’t hurt!

The large field of trucks competing in the 2019 Rudy’s Fall show-n-shine competition was not deterred by the gloomy weather with trucks staged along the side of the drag strip as far as the eye could see.

The show-n-shine trucks on hand ran the gamut from lifted monsters to sleek lowered cruisers with a little bit of everything in-between. They also ranged in age from fresh-off-the-lot new to classic and vintage machines with some being featured in vendor booths and the majority of the trucks lining up against the drag strip past the grandstands as far as the eye could see stacked two deep along much of the way. You could have easily spent the entire day checking out the amazing detail and craftsmanship that was on display in these diesel rides.

With a bright metallic aqua/chrome wrap, a hood stack and massive forged TIS wheels on this GMC Sierra 2500 HD (left) it is sure to turn heads and grab tons of attention no matter where the truck goes. This lifted and Power Stroked Ford Centurion (right) is a great looking beast that Ford should have made back in the ‘80s combining the four-door Bronco with a truck chassis and the diesel drivetrain makes this a great truck.

This ominous-looking black new model Ram (left) uses the bright Specialty Forged wheels for a pop of color with great effect. A classic square-body Chevy (right) with a diesel stuffed under the cowl induction hood is a great combo in our book especially when it is a clean crew cab like this one with a lift and big wheels and tires stuffed under the wheel wells.

Follow along to check out the winners from the 2019 Rudy’s Fall Truck Jam Show-N-Shine as well as highlights of some of the many great trucks we saw on display. As in years past the Rudy’s event was a great way to wrap up the 2019 diesel show/event season. We look forward to seeing a great 2020 diesel event season as well and look forward to seeing you out there so get your rigs shined up and built up over the winter break and hopefully, you’ll catch our eye at an event in 2020 and join the Diesel Army family like these trucks just did!

At first glance, this looks like a good looking 6.7-liter Power Stroke Ford, but when the hood is lifted the beast behind this beauty is revealed!

Dave and Ashley Ramsey celebrate father/daughter moments together at diesel events with their shared passion for Ford Super Duty trucks. Dave’s ’03 dually sports a little more detail under the hood than Ashley’s ’06 Harley Edition F-250 but they are both great looking and performing trucks. Soon they will be joined by the youngest daughter Kenzie who is building her ’08 F-250 to keep up with dad and big sis.

A lowered second-gen standard cab Dodge dually is a great sight to see! This one sports a fourth-gen front bumper, custom grille and HID headlight conversion as well as color-matched tow mirrors to compete with modern diesel rigs.

Wow, this vintage rat rod semi is a great looking rig; the 12-valve Cummins stuffed under the clamshell hood makes it look even better!

Here is a fourth-gen Cummins Ram with sporting aspirations with a lowered stance and sticky Continental sport tires wrapped around the bright orange Fuel Forged wheels. If you look closely you can also see the bright orange turbo under the hood that is possibly part of a compound setup.

We’re not quite sure what the “Pooh Bear” story is, but this is certainly a great looking GMC Sierra with some nice HSP Diesel bolt-ons added to the Duramax under the hood.

OBS Fords were well represented at the 2019 Rudy’s Fall Truck Jam with this pair of lifted Ford’s being prime examples of the many great looking trucks we saw on display.

The “SNOHULK” Ford F-350 features green powder-coated accents on the bright white base for an exciting combination on the lifted Super Duty.

This bright orange Ford (left) features detailed accents throughout including the DIY Move front bumper and custom grille shell with a mesh insert and color-matched surround. This low slung first-gen Dodge (right) looks like it’s ready to road race, or at least have a lot of fun in stoplight battles on the street.

With a shell in the back and moderate-sized American Force wheels wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, this Ram 3500 looks rather unassuming. But looking under the hood tells a different story with a WCFab turbo kit, Banks Monster-Ram intake, and custom powder coating shows that this sleeper means business.

Jeremy Eckert’s 2500 Chevy is a super clean rig with great attention to detail throughout the build.

Franklin Williams calls his lifted Ford Excursion (left) the “SEXCURSION King of SUV’s” and it just might be the king of SUV’s with Lambo door hinges front and rear along with the custom air suspension lift mixed in with huge wheels and tires as well as tons of custom paint and powder coating. He proudly holds his Best In Show award as his rig towers in the background. The Best Cummins award was presented to Zachary Zamudio for his super clean fifth-gen Ram 3500 (right). The bright white Ram sports a slick American Force wheel package wrapped in Fury Country Hunter M/T tires along with custom powder coated suspension and King Shocks for a great ride and low slung stance. The monochrome paint treatment with the grille, mirrors, emblems, bumpers and everything else matching the body color looks great on the truck.

Jeremy Roop’s low riding 2WD Chevy Dually (left) was presented with the Best Duramax award. It is a great looking ride with polished Forgiato Duro 10-lug polished wheels catching attention from everyone. Jeremy blasted down the drag strip and ran across the dyno rollers over the weekend showing that his beautiful rig is far more than just a show stopper. With custom painted trim and lighting throughout the truck, it is built to draw attention while he hauls whatever he wants down the road! Brad Linkie won the Best Power Stroke award for his massive F-350 (right) that rides on a huge custom Stryker Off Road Design suspension system with polished, powder coated and chromed components throughout. Fury Country Hunter M/T tires wrap around highly polished Specialty Forged wheels with custom color-matched accents in the windows and lip lettering to match the Ruby Red Ford.

Here is the group of winners from the 2019 Rudy’s Fall Truck Jam with their trucks: from left to right Jeremy Roop—Best Duramax, Franklin Williams—Best In Show, Brad Linkie—Best Power Stroke and Zachary Zamudio—Best Cummins.
