Before you start building your truck, there is something you need to know: it’s probably going to escalate. Strike that. It’s definitely going to escalate. It’s nearly impossible to keep a mild project from intensifying into a full-on, over-the-top custom truck build. It’s not the end of the world — you get a rad truck, and the rest will figure itself out. Everyone is happy — especially the instigator friend who pushed you over the edge in the first place. In this case, that friend was Shane Bowers, and the truck owner is Juan Salinas.
Recounts Juan Salinas of Arco, Idaho, owner of this pristine 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500HD: “This truck started off as a mild build but my friend Shane Bowers, who I’ve built trucks with, talked me into a ‘simple SEMA build.’ However, that escalated quickly. We decided to do a one-of-a-kind build and incorporate my love for snow machining. I added a 2024 Polaris Boost to the build list and had a custom wrap made to match the truck, and tied it all together with a paint-matched sled deck from our friends at Limitless. This truck will not only break necks, but will put in some work in the mountains.”
Juan and the team at Bowers Collision in Blackfoot, Idaho, transformed his beautiful brand-new High Country Silverado HD into the quintessential SEMA truck. Subsequently, Juan’s truck is now ready to haul his sled all winter long. It’s a win-win situation.
The Chevy hauler gains some altitude thanks to a beefy BDS 6.5-inch coilover conversion kit with Fox 2.5 shocks. The rolling attire is equally impressive and consists of massive one-piece forged monoblock 26-inch Fittipaldi Off Road Wheels FTF504s wrapped in 38×15.50R26 Venom Power Terra Hunter M/T tires. The good lookin’ suspension and wheels/tires are nicely illuminated by 16 LED rock lights.
A selection of exterior components pleasantly complements the suspension and wheel/tire package, including paint-matched, polished, and custom powder-coated Flog Industries Steel Demon Series bumpers and lots of Rigid Industries lighting. Add some custom color-matched headlights and taillights, chrome logos, Next Level Mats step mats, and some color-matched exterior pieces, and Juan was quickly finding himself with one sick Chevy.
Since Juan wasn’t about to abandon his passion for snowmobiles, he opted for a color-matched Limitless Manufacturing sled deck that would accommodate his matching custom-wrapped snowmachine.
As for any engine work to the 6.6-liter Duramax V8, Juan opted for some Banks Power products: PedalMonster, iDash digital monitor, intake horn, and intercooler piping. As for the interior, Juan chose two 12-inch subs for under the seat. To his credit, he started with a brand-new, top-trim HD truck, which comes straight from the factory with pretty dang impressive underhood and interior characteristics.
Nonetheless, we’re sure the time will come for the project to escalate once again.
