Internet Find: Turn Key 7-Second Pro Stock Duramax For Sale

When you want to get involved in diesel drag racing, it really isn’t that expensive. Go buy yourself a diesel truck and enter an entry-level class like E.T. If you want to get faster, you’re obviously going to have to spend a little bit more money. Let’s say you want to compete at the highest level possible and run in the 4-second 1/8th mile or 7-second 1/4-mile range. Now we’re talking about some coin.

What if I told you that you could get into a turn-key, ready-to-rock, 7-second Pro Stock truck for $60,000? Well, you can. John Sleath, Director at John Sleath Race Cars has a race-ready Pro Stock Chevrolet S-10 that can do just that and it is for sale. Unfortunately, John is suffering from arthritis in his arms and shoulders, and campaigning this truck is becoming harder and harder.

John wants this truck to go to someone who can maintain it and really showcase its capabilities. Whether that be over in Europe or here in the United States. For $60,000, you can be competitive overnight. Obviously, there would be a learning curve because it would be a new to you vehicle but I can promise you you couldn’t replicate this for that price.

What Is Inside?

John’s S-10 features a completely chromoly, twin-rail chassis and is covered in SunCoast Race Cars fiberglass. Weighing in at 3,300-pounds, with him in it, the truck is a little heavier than the “Pro Mod” class vehicles we’re used to seeing in the Outlaw Diesel Super Series but you’ve got a canvas that could be worked with.

The rear suspension features a chromoly axle housing, Koni coil overs, Strange Engineering double-adjustable front struts, Pro Center 40-spline gun-drilled shafts, and brakes on all four corners. As for the engine and drivetrain, here is what is included. This 7-second capable truck uses a compound turbocharged 6.6-liter Duramax engine with dual CP3 injection pumps and a set of Exergy Performance injectors.

The cylinder heads have been CNC ported and have all Manton valvetrain. With this engine combination set on kill, and with a healthy dose of nitrous oxide, there is plenty of power there to use. All of this is power is transferred through a built 4L80E transmission and Precision torque converter. Outback is a set of huge drag slicks for the best elapsed times possible.

This truck has gone a personal best of 7.825 at 179.14-mph at Santa Pod Raceway as seen in the video below.

If you’re interested in talking with John and his team on making a sale on this rig, get ahold of us and we will get you in touch with him. So, who is it going to be? Who is going to be the next person to campaign a very powerful Duramax-powered S10?
