If you’re looking for the maximum wow-factor, look no further than Richard Stegall’s 2022 GMC Sierra 3500HD Denali dually. By any measure, this thing is pretty much larger-than-life when it comes to truck builds. We can only imagine how many distracted drivers have bonked while staring instead of driving.
It follows the custom truck build formula down to the T and executes each of the equation’s elements with the finest precision. The formula goes something like this. Start with a large, premium-trim truck. Come up with a build theme that means something to you, and use custom wraps and badges to carry that theme throughout. Add a giant powdercoated lift, clean up the eye-level undercarriage, bolt on some giant wheels with evil lug nuts, spruce up the interior with painted pieces and seat covers, add a bangin’ stereo system for cruisin’, and install a train horn because you have the room. Paint, powdercoat, shave, wrap, polish, or replace as many factory pieces as possible. Finally, take your new toy to SEMA and rest assured that unlike the slammed rides, people can’t dent or scratch your truck because they can’t even reach it.
The theme of this Mississippi-based Denali dually is Kratos. We’ll let you do your homework on God of War’s Kratos, but based on what we see here, we’re thinking a character like Kratos must be pretty badass. If this former cover truck looks familiar, it probably is; you might remember its previous wrap. Kratos’ new custom wrap was designed by Matthew McDonald at TGRenderings and installed by Gary Cundiff. The wrap is complemented by custom Kratos badging throughout.
Stegall opted for an in-your-face custom-built tri-link suspension by BK Fab with BABS custom air-over-hydraulic shocks. There’s plenty of eye-candy to be found in the suspension’s plethora of drop brackets, bars, and mounts. A giant lift with tiny wheels would look ridiculous, so Stegall fitted a massive set (of six) 42-inch Fittipaldi forged wheels wrapped in 42×16.5R30 New Mutant X-MT Predator Tires at all four corners of the 2022 GMC Sierra Denali dually. Only a truck this big could dwarf that much wheel and rubber. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the deep-lipped Fittipladi wheels are engraved. This custom engraving (notice that the engraved design includes Kratos) was done by Hanro Studios Engraving. The frame-off powdercoating was done by Legacy Powdercoating. Somewhere around 120 LED rock lights under truck illuminate the Sierra Denali dually’s undercarriage detail work.
With a bit of athleticism and bravery, one can reach the interior to rest in custom leather and ostrich seats by Roadwire Leather. A custom audio system by Extreme Audio (2021) and Audio Solutions (2024) includes custom-built door panels, a custom headliner with fiber optic lights, a custom speaker enclosure in the bed with four 15-inch subwoofers, and a custom-built automated speaker wall in the bed.
Stegall extends a special thanks to Cris Payne of Truck Guru and BK Fab. Word on the street is that there’s another truck of this caliber in the Stegall stall that belongs to the Mrs. How’s that for some clean family fun?
