Turbosmart is stepping up to the plate to deliver a home run for diesel trucks. We got to see this firsthand as we stopped by its booth at SEMA this year, where the big hit was the Pro-Gate50 Lite external wastegates.

The Pro-Gate50 Lite wastegate is small enough to fit in increasingly constrictive engine bays, while still delivering great efficiency.

Marty Staggs, who was on-hand to help us understand the products, explained that “our 50 mm wastegate is very popular in the diesel market. One thing that we are sensitive to is modification. Guys like to make their turbochargers bigger, but the engine bays stay the same size. Often, the wastegate is the last thing thought, so packaging and installing it in a good way that people can control is difficult. That’s why we made the Pro-Gate50 Lite.”

Functioning the same as the Pro-Gate50, the Lite version combines the 50 mm size of its high-flowing sibling with the added benefit of a compact cap design. It’s essentially all about offering higher flow capability for when space is at a premium and must be conserved.

The Pro-Gate50 Lite comes with a vee-band clamp mounting system to suit two-inch outside diameter (OD) piping, as well as inlet and outlet weld flanges, a valve seat, and 2x 1/8-inch NPT vacuum fittings. Variations include a 7 psi or 14 psi version, with color choices in black or blue.

Ventilating extra boost pressure out of your diesel’s system can only be a good thing, and it’s done with great efficiency when you go with Turbosmart. Find out more about the company’s products by phone or by online with the provided contact information below.
